After evaluating the nominees for the best performing lupons, the Regional Awards Committee (RAC) forwarded the regional winners from the three (3) categories out of four (4)  for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) this week  to National Awards Committee (NAC).

Brgy. Pasonanca of Zambonga City, the sole city, automatically won the category for Outstanding Highly-Urbanized City  and also Brgy. Poblacion of  Manukan in Zamboanga del Norte, being the only nominee, got the outstanding LT for 1st -3rd class municipality category.

Brgy. Olingan in Dipolog City emerged as the winner for Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa in Component City over  Brgy. Tuburan in Pagadian City.

No nominee came out for Outstanding LT in 4th-6th class municipality from the region.

Per Memorandum Circular 2008-102 dated Jun 17, 2008, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office provides technical and secretariat to the RAC to select and submit the National Awards committee (NAC) the best performing lupons in the region.

Regional Awards Committee was composed of Regional Director of DILG as the Chairperson and the Regional State Prosecutor of DOJ as the Vice-chairman. Members consist of RTC Executive Judge, RPOC representative, President of LnB Regional Chapter and two (2) representatives from region-based NGO.

The nominees were evaluated on the basis of three major criteria such as the efficiency in operation, effectiveness in securing Katarungang Pambarangay objectives and creativity and resourcefulness of the Lupong Tagapamayapa.

It is now to the National Awards Committee to select from among the regional entries the national awardees.
