Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay – The 1.7-kilometer Upper Sumilong to Bulacan Road in Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay, was officially turned over on December 2, 2024. The ceremony was attended by Zamboanga Sibugay Cluster Head Benonie A. Galambao and DILG RO and PO Focal Engineers. Also present were DTI-Finance Service Director Maria Asuncion H. Cruzada, DTI Region IX Director Engr. Al-Zamir I. Lipae, DTI IX RCU, PCU and NPCO personnel.

The newly completed road will significantly enhance the efficiency for the farming community, allowing for faster and more cost-effective transport of agricultural produce to markets and trading centers. Furthermore, this road will ensure school children from Upper Sumilong and Bulacan can attend classes more safely and with greater ease.

In the afternoon, the LGU-Payao presented its comprehensive Operations and Maintenance (O&M) plan for the project at the Municipal Hall. The presentation reaffirmed the LGU’s dedication to preserving the road’s functionality and maximizing its long-term benefits for the community.
