On his tenth year as Regional Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office IX, Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil reiterated his commitment to improve and strengthen the department’s programs, projects, and activities for the year 2020 anchored on PEACE (Passion, Enthusiasm, Adaptability, Commitment, Enjoyment) Framework, during the DILG IX’s Maiden Convocation held last January 6, 2020 at the DILG IX Regional Office in Balintawak, Pagadian City.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office IX conferred the Regional Disaster Preparedness Index (RDPI) awards to 32 local government units (LGUs) in Zamboanga Peninsula last Dec. 3, 2019 at Garden Orchid Hotel, Zamboanga City.
The RDPI measures the readiness of LGUS to deliver their mandate in safeguarding the people during calamities and other emergencies through assessments on the level of compliance on the minimum standards of Republic Act 10121 – an act strengthening the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Framework, and other governing laws and regulations on disaster risk reduction and management.
The DILG Region IX will be accepting applicants for the following position:

Assignment : Regional Office
- Graduate of any four (4) year course, preferably relevant to social development, community development, and/or social work.
- Should preferably have (30) hours of relevant training in community organizing, community mobilization strategies and approaches, social development, and/or Popular Education techniques and approaches.
- At least two (2) years of relevant, progressive work experience in community organizing and/or social development work. Experience in Participatory Local Governance will be an advantage.
- Must have a strong sense of social responsibility, credible/able to work with CSOs and local government units, able to communicate verbally and in writing to various stakeholders, be fluent in the local dialect and/or a resident of the area to which he or she will be assigned and computer literate.
The Department of the interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX successfully hosted the conduct of the Orientation for the DILG IX Regional and Field Officers on the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) on August 6, 2019 at Manuel Resort, Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Participated in by the Provincial and City Directors, City Local Government Operations Officers (CLGOOs), Cluster Heads, Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) and Regional Office Personnel, respectively, the one-day activity spearheaded by Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil aimed to orient the regional and field officers on their roles in the Retooled Community Support Program, as main prime movers of the program at the field level.
